As per my stressful day yesterday, I didn't workout AND I ate at In N Out... Back at it today.
WOD:
5 pull ups
10 push ups
15 squats
-for 20 minutes
8 rounds (with 2 minutes left to go)
Craig and I worked out together tonight. It was fun having him there, however, very distracting with lots of resting smoochies. Not to mention giggling (which completely prevents me from doing any sort of pull up) because he was making fun of me for the sex noises I was making while exerting myself. I did all 5 pull ups and made it all the way up to the bar for the first few rounds, and then the last 3, the further I went, the further from the bar I made it. Push ups were tough, especially considering that at one time, I used to be able to do 30 without stopping. Sigh. The second to last round, I had to finish my last two doing girl push ups and the last round, I did all 10 girl push ups...LAME. Squats were easy.
Kipping... So I've got the upswing down pat. The down swing into the up swing... well, that's another story. So everytime I do a pull up, I do the up swing into the pull up and then have to hang until I stop swinging and then go again. But I'm working on it... lol.
I, again, can't move my arms.

Holy cow!! Nice job with the push-ups!! you are awesome!! With the kipping- as soon as you get up to the bar- push away real hard and that will keep your momentum going. Be sure when your swing that you are only hinging from the hips and not "swinging" per say. You should be able to stop your self immediately if you are doing this aspect correctly. Now that you have tried these a few times go back to the video's and see if that helps.
ReplyDeleteAs for the back squats- we were doing 5 sets of 3 reps so I intially started with the bar and warmed up and from there I just add a little weight and did a few more warm-up sets (around 5 reps or so...) Then I set a mental goal for my end set- which was 145 (this just comes with practice and knowing what you can do) I just worked up to that with the other 4 sets that I did. Ideally your final set should be your MAX for that many reps so 145# is pretty close to all that I could do 3 times. Where as if we were doing just singles, I could probably go quite a bit heavier. Does that answer your question?? Sorry for being so confusing and rambly! I am tired today! One of the neighbors has an 18-year old daughter who thinks it's really fun to have her friends over when her mom's not home and they go out onto their back deck and talk and laugh and do stupid things (i.e. throw water-filled condoms at buildings). Anyhow, they woke me up at 4am and I am feeling it! I HATE being woken up!!!!! grrrrr!! anyhow- have a wonderful day! Keep up the great work- I am so proud of you for doing this!! You are doing wonderful! I wish I could be there! Have Craig take some pics next time he tags along so that I can see you in action ;) Is he doing CF too?? If so, he should start a blog!! I would comment on his too...if he wanted me too of course...lol!
